Hyfe is the name of the long, banching fibres of a fungus. This A6 sized magazine grows acociatively and partially uncontrolled in every direction. One editor, a word-list, and a co-author who suggest the next author makes this series grow further. Every issue is the visible outcome of this invisible network.
Hyfe is the philosophical magazine, written and edited independently by Maurice Specht. Within the riso-based publishing house Rimshot-Riso, I was partly responsible for the production and publication of the 5 first issues of this magazine.
I'm a graphic designer and aspiring publisher currently based in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. My main practice focusses on book designs with a conceptual angle, trying to grasp the nature of the book/publication as object, and, increasingly, it's political implications. Materially and thematically, I'm interested in the notion of transparency and reflectivity. These are elements that always come back in my work somehow.
Next to physical, I also work with digital publication methods, in the form of web-develpment.
